The president’s younger brother died Saturday night after suffering a brain haemorrhage after a recent fall, reportedly.
Robert rushed to a New York hospital this week before dying a day later at the age of 71.
But within minutes of his death, tweets calling for the president’s death were posted with the hashtag #wrongtrump, which has temporarily become the fourth topic on the site.
President Trump said last night in a moving statement: “It’s the big percentage that my glorious brother, Robert, passed away peacefully at night.”
The cause of death has not been officially revealed, however, a circle of family friends told the New York Times that Robert was suffering from a brain haemorrhage and had not been able to speak on the phone in recent weeks.
