Dominican Gov. scrambles to halt COVID at airports

Santo Domingo – The Dominican government on Tuesday announced a series of measures to save the propagation of COVID -19 at airports, at a time when visitors in the country increase after Christmas festivities.

Authorities have banned more than two other people consistent with the vehicle from going to passengers at airports, ordered a staff building to guard travelers and build up patrols to make sure it ensures their safety.

Deputy Public Health Minister Edward Guzman told reporters that an army checkpoint will be placed outside the Las Americas airport to verify that only two other people are inmates of the vehicle.
