The director of Qatar’s infectious diseases unit reassured the public this week and noted the country’s effectiveness in fighting coronavirus.
One million more cases have been avoided in Qatar thanks to the country’s immediate and effective fitness measures since the start of the coronavirus outbreak, according to Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, president of the National Strategic Group on COVID-19 and head of hamad Medical Corporation’s Infectious Diseases Division.
The country’s movements have caused a number of cases that would have hit the country’s fitness system, Dr. Al Khal said on a virtual occasion entitled “Qatar’s Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic: Lessons Learned. “
“Because of the interventions we implemented, we flattened the curve to the point where the maximum number of infections decreased by 79% of what it would have been if no public aptitude measures had been taken,” Dr. Al Khal said.
Qatari fitness official added that the country’s restrictions helped its low mortality rate without prioritizing one case over another.
“Every death means a lot to a circle of relatives and to the country, and it is an incredibly unhappy loss. However, thanks to adequate criteria for care and early detection and treatment, we have kept mortality rates very low. The reaction of the health formula to criticality and mortality has been remarkable, “he said.

In response to considerations about the prevalence of school infections among children, Dr. Al Khal assured the public that the rate of spread of the virus within this social organization is less than 1% in total.
“The vast majority of young people inflamed with coronavirus have become inflamed outdoors on school premises, and the rate of infection in schools is neither a fear nor a risk to society at the moment,” Dr. Al Khal said.
She added that schools will be closed separately for two weeks if she files infections in 3 classes, or five% of it is infected.
El Dr. Al Khal also stated that the infection rate is solid despite existing fluctuations and that the spread is largely due to meetings and the rest of the precautionary measures implemented, adding the dress of a mask.
“We have to wait a few months until we get the vaccine and everyone has to be patient and respect prevention and precautionary measures, especially vulnerable groups,” he said.
Qatar has recently had 2,892 active instances of COVID-19 and has recorded 225 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
