DOH registers 4963 new instances, while COVID-19 PH generally exceeds 98,000

MANILA, Philippines – The number of coronavirus infections in the Philippines has increased to 98232 with 4963 additional cases of COVID-19, the Ministry of Health (DOH) said Saturday.

The most recent cases were reported through tests from 74 of existing operating laboratories, the DOH said.

Meanwhile, the DOH reported that recent deaths occurred in July and June. Of the 17, thirteen occurred in July and 4 in June.

The DOH also reported 85 “doubles” that were removed from the total number of cases. Of the 85, six were recoveries and one was a case of death.

The COVID-19 outbreak made the first impression in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, in December 2019.
