While those rules are express for COVID, the DOH says those preventative measures can also spread more familiar viruses, such as the flu. Schools and child care providers are encouraged to review doH’s general descriptions of rule adjustments. These can be discovered by clicking here.

Schools and child care providers through the DOH are encouraged to stay on top of regional COVID cases, hospitalizations, and outbreaks and take additional steps to prevent the spread of the virus.

The DOH says the best coverage against a serious illness is to get vaccinated. The COVID-19 vaccine is now available to children six months of age and older. Booster injections are also available for children five years of age and older.

However, Seattle Public Schools said it would continue its mask policy “until further notice. “
