The Ministry of Health downplayed reports that the Philippines is now the epicenter of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Southeast Asia.

Undersecretary of Health Maria Rosario Vergeire said the public should be cautious when comparing the numbers with other countries because the reaction of the Philippines was different from that of neighboring states.
