MANILA, Philippines – The Ministry of Health (DOH) will announce every Sunday the recovery of “time-based” coronavirus disease in 2019 (COVID-19) as a component of its “Oplan Recovery” program, the agency’s spokesman said Friday.
“Starting this Sunday, we will announce again this announcement of patients recovering according to time and every Sunday, the announcement of the announcement on Sunday,” The Undersecretary of Health, María Rosario Vergeire, told the press.
Under this program, asymptomatic patients and those with mild symptoms will be labeled as recovered after completing mandatory quarantine 14 days from the time they begin to show symptoms of COVID-19, or their samples are collected for analysis.
The sharp increase in recovery has raised doubts and questions about the Department of Health’s management of critical COVID-19 data.
The Department of Health, however, insisted that the approach is based on clinical evidence and on the same point as foreign standards.
