MANILA, Philippines – The Ministry of Health (DOH) has seen an increase in the grouping of coronavirus cases of 2019 (COVID-19) in express communities.
A cluster occurs when there is a concentration of infections in it at the same time.
Vergeire reiterated that other points contributing to the accumulation of COVID-19 cases are the return of Filipino staff and other locally stranded people returning to their home provinces.
“We have also, of course, increased our detection capabilities and are expanding our tracking mechanism where we are already actively looking for cases. That’s why, lately, many other people or Americans are known as positive,” Vergeire said.
The Philippines has already recorded a total of 143,749 cases of COVID-19, with another 4,444 cases reported on Wednesday.
Confirmed included 72,348 activeArray 68,997 cures and 2,404 deaths.
