Do you want to give away this generous season well? Charity Intelligence announces Canada’s 1000 best-rated charities by 2020

TORONTO, November 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – To help donors do well and after reviewing Canada’s largest charities, Charity Intelligence (Ci) today launched its 100 major charities of 2020, such as Doctors Without Borders, World Vision and Terry Fox Foundation – with some newly discovered gems.

“The combined effects of the WE Charity and COVID scandal have made donors more cautious. Sixty, according to the percentage of Canadian donors, say they will do more homework on the charities they support. The Top 100 of donors is the best tool for this due diligence. Ci’s reports on charities provide Canadians with data so their donations can be as smart as possible,” says Kate Bahen, Ci’s CEO.

The 2020 donation season will be incredibly difficult. The flattening of the COVID curve is also a flattening of donations. Imagine Canada estimates that this year’s donations will fall from $4 billion to $6 billion. However, frontline charities, such as food banks, crisis lines and shelters, are under enormous strain, aggravated by unprecedented demand. In addition to COVID, the WE Charity scandal has shaken donor confidence. Providing knowledge improves donor wisdom and is a way to repair that trust.

While maximum donations are influenced by a charity’s brand, Ci analyzes the effects, prices, and effects of a charity, sometimes less identified effects. IQ ratings use objective measures that come with transparency, effects reports, need for funding, cents given to the cause, and proven to have an effect on (if any).
