IF YOU are suffering from a cold, flu or other respiratory illness and feel that everyone around you in Spain is suffering too, you may not be far wrong.
According to statistics from the Carlos III Health Institute, under the Spanish Ministry of Health, the incidence of acute respiratory diseases in the country currently stands at 740 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
This represents an increase of 37% compared to last week, when the figure was 539.
The figures come from a weekly report that monitors flu, Covid-19 and other respiratory illnesses, and covers the week of December 11 to 17.
The report also shows that positive Covid-19 diagnoses increase by 14% weekly, while in the case of flu this figure increases by 20%.
