MANILA, Philippines – Vaccine brands are beginning to apply for a Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) in the Philippines to make COVID-19 bites more available to the general public, Infectious Disease Expert Dr. Edsel Salvaña said Tuesday.
A CPR is a cpr issued by
“Unang-una ang-hintay talaga natin of the pharmaceutical company is yung tinatawag na pag-apply nila for the certificate of registration of your product. Nabigyan na ng CPR in the United States and marming kasama dyan ang pfizer and Moderna vaccines,” he said at a public briefing.
“Kaya na [ito] i-market nung mga kumpanya na ‘yan sa public, hindi na kailangan dumaan sa gobyerno,” he added.
(So, companies can already market them [COVID-19 vaccines] to the general public, so the government doesn’t want to go through that. )
If vaccine brands can get CPR for COVID-19 vaccines in the United States, Salvaña said, “there’s no reason” why the same should not be given to the Philippines, given that the verification and evaluation processes in the U. S. should not be granted the same. The U. S. is comprehensive.
Salvaña explained that with an approved CPR, personal doctors may already be offering and administering COVID-19 vaccines in their clinics even without the emergency use of the authority (USA).
Salvaña also said that marketing covid-19 vaccines to the public would motivate and reassure them, knowing that the doctors they agree to will administer the vaccines.
“Hindi lang tayo nagdedepende sa gobyerno, hindi lang tayo nagdedepend sa mga LGU (local government units), kundi meron na rin stores its cargo with the sector,” he said.
(We don’t just count on the government. Not only do we have the LGUs, but the personal sector now has a percentage of the load). )
Previously, former presidential adviser for the venture Joey Concepcion had advised vaccine brands to apply for CPR, noting that the public would also be guilty of getting the COVID-19 vaccines. – Nicole Faye Agcaoili, INQUIRER. net
