Malacanang, through presidential spokesman Harry Roque, expressed his condolences and paid tribute to the guy who stood out for his “tough stance on crime and drugs.”
“He left a legacy of law and order to his constituents,” Roque said on a Saturday.
“We pray for the rest of his soul as we keep Mayor Lim’s circle of relatives in our minds and praise this moment of wonderful loss,” he said.
Lim ran for president in 1998 and lost to Estrada.
Lim earned the nickname “Dirty Harry” of the same title, for his harsh crime policy. Hollywood star Clint Eastwood.
