While we don’t have an exact opening date, the finishing touches are being put on a new place to eat in New Jersey that might blow your mind.
It’s a new Latin eating place and bar with an herbal concept that I can experiment with.
Pachamama is a goddess worshipped by the rest of the peoples of the Andes. In Inca mythology, she is a goddess of fertility and “Mother Earth”. PachaMama, the restaurant, will pay tribute to him.
“Food comes from the land, which is overseen by Mother Nature, so we wanted to pay homage to that,” marketing director Sinead O’Brien told mycentraljersey.com.
So create your dining room with a 16-foot tree in the middle and branches above you while you are surrounded by greenery, flowers, hand-woven baskets and forests of herbs. Handsome!
What about food? If you’re not used to Latin American food and Peruvian food in particular, don’t be intimidated. PachaMama knows “that a lot of people are wary of Latin American cuisine, so we need to make it accessible. We’ll have foods that other people will recognize, but there will be dishes from South America that most people probably wouldn’t recognize,” according to O’Brien.
Their menu will include delicious possible options such as Peruvian roast chicken, shrimp tacos, ceviche, arroz chaufa (which is Peruvian fried rice), lomo saltado, steak with onion and tomato, fries and rice, teriyaki wings and much more.
When they open, and it will be soon, locate them at 215 U. S. 22 East in Green Brook.
