MANILA, Philippines – The first death among Filipinos inflamed by the coronavirus in Israel was shown on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry (DFA) said.
The DFA noted that 39 of israel’s 46 Filipinos suffering from COVID-19 had already recovered and been discharged from hospitals and quarantine facilities.
FDFA is also organizing the repatriation of those wishing to return to the Philippines.
“Even with the prolonged duration of the pandemic, the Embassy continues to operate through an appointment to fulfill the consular wishes of the Philippine network in Israel. Despite our limited budget, the Embassy continues to provide food aid to Filipinos who lost their jobs to the lockout,” Ambassador Nathaniel Imperial said.
“The embassy remained open to consular operations and, in accordance with Ministry of Health (MS) protocols, allowed a limited number of clients to enter the premises,” he added.
On Monday, the DFA said there were already 10,070 cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos abroad, with 3,188 patients being treated and 6,127 already out.
There are also 775 Filipinos who have succumbed to the virus, not to mention the latter.
