SINGAPORE – Singapore is grappling with a record number of dengue cases this year, and the fact that it encourages it to paint from home to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the main drivers of the increase, the National Environment Agency said Wednesday.
On Tuesday, 22,403 cases of dengue were reported this year, to nearly 16,000 cases for last year’s total, the firm said on its website. The number surpasses the previous record of 22170 set in 2013.
