SAN PEDRO CITY – Lian Mayor Batangas died days after the positive coronavirus (COVID-19), authorities said Sunday.
Bolompo was first transported to the Western Medical Center in Balayan city on 17 October, where the official tested positive for COVID-19.
“Since last week, the search for contacts through the local government (of Lian) is underway,” Ozaeta said.
Bolompo, a doctor, a fitness employee in Batangas before appointing Lian’s mayor.
In April, the official criticized him for selling a concoction of coconut oil, garlic and calamansi supposedly to save him COVID-19.
Health experts have still discovered a cure for the disease.
According to the Ministry of Health, Batangas registered 8988 of COVID-19, of which 1,379 were active as of October 24.
It said there were 50,227 cases in the region, of which 10,525 were active.
