Retired Red Sox legend David Ortiz said Friday that COVID-19 had not yet developed any symptoms.
Ortiz talked about his illness Friday at the Red Sox game against the Yankees, according to the Boston Globe.
“I just took my last check, thank God I dialed negative, ” said Ortiz. “I had [an] asymptomatic case, so mine wasn’t so bad. But my brother was in genuine pain. He had to stay in the hospital for a week. He ended up losing about 25 pounds. Dude, this isn’t a joke.
Ortiz spoke to the channel from his home in the Dominican Republic, The Globe reported.
