Daily instances of COVID-19 in the UAE succeed at the near-maximum level

DUBAI: The Ministry of Health of the United Arab Emirates reported on Friday (September 11) 931 new cases of coronavirus following a recent outbreak of infections that are almost the highest since the pandemic outbreak.

Until last month, there had been an overall downward trend since new cases in the United Arab Emirates peaked at 994 in May, however, figures increased from 164 cases on 3 August.

The Arab Gulf state recorded 77,842 infections and 398 COVID-19 deaths. The government does not disclose where infections or deaths occurred in the country of the seven emirates. Approximately 10 million people, mostly foreigners, live in the United Arab Emirates.

A fitness ministry official on Thursday asked the public to respect social estating and meetings and mixing it with others known to have the virus, which she says accounts for approximately 88% of cases.

The United Arab Emirates had in the past implemented strict measures to curb the spread of the new coronavirus, adding the blockade of Dubai’s resort for a month and months of night curfews across the country.

Most public and commercial offerings have now reopened with some restrictions, and others will have to wear outdoor masks.

Dubai reopened foreign visitors in July, airports in the rest of the country remain closed to visitors.

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the largest and richest emirate, has been limited in the region to others who test negative for COVID-19.
