October 19 (UPI) – CVS Health announced Monday that it will promptly rent to another 15,000 workers to cope with the expected accumulation of COVID-19 cases and seasonal influenza during the fall and winter months.
“We have a much greater need for trained pharmacy technicians this year given COVID-19’s continued presence in our communities,” said Lisa Bisaccia, CVS Director of Human Resources.
The new income was announced amid developing instances across the country and fears of a COVID-19 “twin” and flu.
The United States has reported 17% more cases in the last two weeks, according to Stat fitness data.
CVS and its competitor Walgreens were asked through the Department of Health and Human Services last week to administer loose vaccines to citizens and nursing homes across the country once a vaccine for use against coronavirus is approved.
As a component of the program, CVS and Walgreens will plan and coordinate on-site clinic dates directly with the facility, likely a total of 3 visits over two months to administer two doses.
