A delegation from the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the CSTO, led by its deputy personnel leader, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, arrived in Armenia on Thursday night to start a follow-up project to assess the extent of the group’s involvement in the latest escalation on the border.
The Armenian government, a member of the CSTO, appealed to the organization after Azerbaijan introduced a large-scale attack on Armenia and violated its sovereign drillers and territory.
“I had a meeting with Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov,” Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan said. “I informed him of the scenario resulting from the large-scale aggression through Azerbaijan on September 13 and assigned him the targets of the next surveillance. “expressed the hope that the organization would present effective cadres and provide the CSTO Collective Security Council with a detailed and accurate report on the scenario.
He added that the CSTO will work with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia and in the combat action regions.
