Cricket returns to the UAE with Emirates D10 tournament

Dubai: The first Emirates D10 cricket tournament began on Friday with an exciting start in Dubai, marking cricket’s return to the United Arab Emirates after a four-month close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chirag Suri, the first player of the UAE national team, and Vritya Arvind shone in two of their fites of the day for the ECB Blues (Emirates Cricket Board), the united Arabs Cricket Board’s representative team on the icc Academy field. The ECB convincingly beat Abu Dhabi through forty-five numbers at the opening of the tournament, while its time of day opposed the dubai Pulse Secure tied.

Interestingly, the ECB Blues have been judged as the winners of the ‘tied’ adjustment on the merit of more cross-borders: they had reached 19 against 15 through Dubai Pulse (remember the latest from the 2019 ICC World Cup?). Tournament regulations state that Superovers will only be used on disposal and final occasions.

In the first attack on the Abu Dhabi team, Suri and former UAE captain Rohan Mustafa made the most of the first blow after being sent to bat through the Abu Dhabi team. Dubai Pulse Secure lost its way to finish with exactly the same score, however, the ECB received complete problems about the merit of more borders reached.

In two other matches of the day, Sharjah Bukhatir XI swept Fujairah Pacific Ventures across nine grounds, while the Abu Dhabi team beat Ajman Alubond across 8 terrains. The Emirates D10 is controlled by the Emirates Cricket Board in partnership with Indian sports marketing company ITW Consulting on a three-year contract. This is the first annual national club cricket festival in the United Arab Emirates, with six groups competing in 34 games out of 10 matches through August 7.
