CP Kelco (Atlanta, Georgia) has made progress in expanding biogome production capacity at two of its plants: Okmulgee, Oklahoma, USA. USA and Wulian, China.

These expansion projects are an integral component of the company’s significant multi-year investment program that focuses on its biogomm production capacity and capabilities. Together with its biogomm production plant in San Diego, California, USA, it is a growing plant. through the centralized coordination of 3 geographically distinct production sites for gelan gum, xanthan gum, diutano gum and fermentation cellulose.

In 2020, the first phase of this expansion ended at our Wulian, China site, loading the capacity to produce gellan gum with high acyl (HA) content and expanding the plant’s overall production capacity by 30%. We plan to load gellan gum with low acyl content (LA) production capacity to this facility in 2023.

CP Kelco also plans to complete a 40% expansion of production capacity in 2023 at our Okmulgee, Oklahoma facility. Individually and collectively, those projects reflect CP Kelco’s commitment to delivering innovation and world-class visitors despite the unprecedented demanding situations arising from the COVID-19 Pandemic and exacerbated by runaway inflation and supply chain disruptions.

“We remain committed to serving our customers internationally and supporting their expansion plans, especially as market trends and customer demands continue to evolve and target formulas with natural, blank and sustainably produced ingredients,” said Didier Viala, president of CP Kelco. “The expansion of our biogommes allows us to better collaborate with our customers in the development of food, beverages, private care, home care and other cutting-edge products for customers. “
