The Union Ministry of Health showed on Saturday that more than 129 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been provided to the states and territories of the union through free channels and through direct state purchases.
The ministry said the Union government is determined to accelerate the speed and expand the scope of vaccination across the country.
The Centre said that more than 21. 65 crore rupees and unused Covid vaccine doses still remain in the states and union territories.
India’s vaccination crusade has accelerated thanks to the availability of more vaccines and increased visibility of vaccine availability in the union’s states and territories, allowing them to better plan and optimize the vaccine supply chain, the Ministry of Health said.
Starting with the national vaccination campaign, the Indian government has supported states and UTs by offering them COVID-19 vaccines for free, he stressed.
