New Delhi: In a statement issued on Saturday by Dr. Manohar Agnani, Additional Secretary of Health for All States and Union Territories, on behalf of the Center explained the importance of medical oxygen and highlighted possible measures that should be taken to care for it.
The Center asked union states and territories to operationalize and maintain oxygen plants and their supply, as well as conduct simulated trainings to deal with the emerging COVID-19 situation.
The one issued through the Department of Health and Welfare said:
Medical oxygen is a critical and critical resource in all clinical settings, especially when managing a pandemic. A reliable source of oxygen is imperative to saving lives in patient care and COVID-19 management.

During the COVID pandemic, the Government of India has supported states/UTs through the installation and commissioning of PSA plants, oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders and other oxygen-related infrastructure for cost-effective and reliable availability of medical oxygen in public gymnasiums. across the country. Ventilator control through Gol was also extended for greater patient care.
3. This ministry conducts weekly review meetings with all states/SWUs to make sure all medical oxygen devices are properly configured and working properly. In addition to this, the ministry also facilitates the solution of technical problems faced by states/UTs. SOPs on the rational use of oxygen were shared with all states/SWU as of April 25, 2021 via MoHFW. In addition, training was carried out to ensure that a qualified human resource optimally supports this device.
4. Although Covid cases in the country are low and not expanding at the moment, in order to cope with all the demanding situations that will arise in the future, the commissioning and maintenance of those medical infrastructures is of paramount importance. Therefore, you are asked to order everything that applies to ensure:
I. PSA plants are fully maintained and normal training simulations are performed to determine them.
ii. Se must ensure the availability of Liquid Medical Oxygen (MVNO) in health facilities and the uninterrupted supply chain for replenishment.
A sufficiently good stock of oxygen cylinders is maintained, as well as emergency stocks and a physically powerful filling formula.
iv. La availability of survival devices such as ventilators, BIPAP and SpO2 systems and their consumables is there.
v. Oxygen rooms deserve to be revitalized at the state/SWU point for immediate solution of oxygen-related problems and challenges.
vi. La integration of all oxygen fitness services into the ODAS platform for daily oxygen request and consumption deserves to be monitored for implementation.
