Covid reaches IPL: CSK sewer, members tested positive

An existing Indian cricketer is one of several members of the Chennai Super Kings contingent who tested the Covid-19, forcing the franchise to expand its quarantine era in Dubai prior to the IPL.

A league source revealed that all covid-19 effects occurred on days 1, 3 and 6 of the tests after the contingent landed in Dubai. The IPL is scheduled to begin on September 19.

“Yes, a fast average right bowler, who recently played for India, as well as some members tested positive for Covid-19,” an IPL source told PTI in anonymity.

“As we know, one of the top senior CSK and his wife control officers, and at least two members of their social media team are also positive on Covid-19,” he added.

The progression forced the CSK to expand the quarantine era for the excursion until September 1.

According to BCCI’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), all positives must go through an additional seven-day quarantine.

They can introduce the biosecurity bubble after a negative and return to tests that will be performed after prolonged isolation.
