After the peak recorded through the Covid-19 epidemic last July in the country, its curve continues to show a downward trend, either in positivity and occupation of normal hospital beds and extensive care.
The downward trend is seen in the official reports contained in the special announcements published through the Directorate General of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health on the behavior of the disease in Dominican territory.
Yesterday the positivity rate of samples processed in the last 4 weeks was 28.36%, while on 25 July it was 33.10%.220 patients were admitted to intensive care units. By comparison, there were 277 intensive care patients at the date discussed above.with maximum care in emergency services and normal beds for patients with Covid.
The opposite happened with the overall covid mortality rate, which shows a slight increase, yesterday was 1.78%, while on 25 July the Special Epidemiological Bulletin placed it at 1.69%, cumulative deaths were 1,063 instances and cumulative positive effects were discovered in 62,908 patients.

In the 164th newsletter released yesterday, 8 new deaths were recorded for a total of 1,681 deaths, and 509 new instances of other positive people were reported for 66,776 patients.
However, it should be noted that most of the reported samples were treated in personal laboratories, as the Dr. Defillo National Laboratory treated only 16.7% of the reported cases, contributing 45% of the reported positives.
