Private schools in Abu Dhabi are providing distance learning features to academics who tested positive for Covid-19. The government has taken the plunge, so academics are left without studies for the remaining days of the existing educational year.
In April, Abu Dhabi’s Ministry of Education and Knowledge (Adek) announced that all students in private and charter schools will be required to resume face-to-face learning from the new period, which began on April 11.
Students were exempt if they submitted a medical report rated “high risk” confirming their inability to attend in person. Students with Covid-19 symptoms have also been exempted, according to Adek.
Neeraj Bhargava, principal of the Indian school in Abu Dhabi, told the Khaleej Times on Monday that some 40 academics and 20 members tested positive for covid-19 in recent days.
“We offer distance education to academics who tested positive so they can take courses from home. We don’t need anything to be lost in the remaining term of office,” he said.
“Students and the school can only return to the school campus if they have a negative Covid-19 result. “
Bhargava noted that students in grades 10 to 11 will complete their CBSE exams on June 15, while other students will begin their long summer vacation on July 1.
“It all goes from the moment all the students returned to the school campus for physical learning,” he said.
“Our students were very pleased to attend all categories at the school and to be physically with their teachers and play with friends on the school grounds. “
The Uae reported a backlog of new positive cases since early June. The Ministry of Health and Prevention reported on Sunday, June 12, 12, 1249 cases of Coronavirus Covid-19.
“COVID-19 cases have risen again nationally in recent days. Our school has continued to adhere to precautionary measures for the protection of students and school staff,” Bhargava said.
Anna Pagdiwalla, principal of the Mayoor School in Abu Dhabi, said: “Covid-19 positive students get enough for their daily paintings at all times through distance learning, depending on their health status. “
Salman Khan, deputy director of islamia English School, said the school was very happy to welcome all its pupils for physical learning in April.
“Parents were put in total confidence and Adek was followed in letter and spirit through all protocols and precautions,” he said.
“As most parents wish, we have already presented options online, but due to the backlog of cases, we can ask Adek to allow us to apply distance learning for the remainder of the period. “
School principals have suggested parents send their children to school if they have symptoms of Covid-19.
According to the rules previously published by Adek, the regime’s Covid PCR tests would apply to vaccinated and unvaccinated students and staff:
— Unvaccinated students: People 16 and older have been allowed to return to school, but will have to produce a negative PCR test result every seven days.
— Vaccinated students: People over the age of 16 will be required to undergo PCR testing every 30 days and show their green prestige on the Al Hosn app to enter schools. The same testing regime and requirements apply to other people with a validated medical exemption. in the Al Hosn app.
— 16-year-old students: the validity of the PCR control is maintained at 30 days.
Al Hosn’s green pass requirements apply to all school visitors, while unvaccinated visitors will be required to provide a negative PCR test result issued within 48 hours.
Adek previously said physical distancing requirements had been lifted in internal study rooms in time for the third school term. This happened weeks after the requirement on open-air spaces was lifted.
Students in grades 1 through 12 will be required to wear a face mask inside. Using one is optional in outdoor spaces.
