The number of COVID-19 cases in India exceeded 50 lakh, just 11 days after crossing the 40 lakh, with 90123 infections reported in one day, while recoveries rose to 39,42,360 on Wednesday, according to the knowledge of the Union’s Ministry of Health.
The total number of coronavirus cases increased to 50,20,359, while the number of deaths rose to 82066 with a record 1,290 people who succumbed to the disease in 24 hours, according to updated knowledge at 8 a. m.
Cases of COVID-19 in India increased from 10 lakh to 20 lakh in 21 days.
Then it took 16 days to cross 30 lakh, thirteen more days to cross the 40 lakh mark and 11 days to exceed 50 lakh.
It took 110 days for COVID-19 instances in the country to succeed in a lakh, while it took 59 more days to overcome the 10 lakh position.
The fatality rate of COVID-19 cases due to coronavirus infection fell to 1. 63%.
There are 9,95,933 active instances of COVID-19 in the country, representing 19. 84% of the total number of instances, according to the data.
According to the Medical Research Council of India, a cumulative total of 5,94,29,115 samples were analysed as of 15 September with 11,16,842 samples analyzed on Tuesday.
A total of 1,290 new deaths were reported, 515 in Maharashtra, 216 in Karnataka, 113 in Uttar Pradesh, 90 in Punjab, 69 in Andhra Pradesh, 68 in Tamil Nadu, 59 in West Bengal and 36 in Delhi.
A total of 82,066 deaths have been reported in the country, adding 30,409 from Maharashtra, followed by 8,502 from Tamil Nadu, 7,481 Karnataka, 5,041 Andhra Pradesh, 4,806 Delhi, 4,604 Uttar Pradesh, 4,062 West Bengal, 3,244 Gujarat, 2,514 Punjab and 1,820 Madhya Pradesh.
The Ministry of Health noted that more than 70% of deaths are due to comorities.
“Our figures are being reconciled with the Medical Research Council of India,” the ministry said on its website, adding that the distribution of figures across the state is a matter of verification and reconciliation.
