Dubai: Air India Express has announced that young people under the age of 12 travelling with the airline between India and the United Arab Emirates are now exempt from the mandatory COVID-19 PCR test.
The COVID-19 negative PCR verification certificate is no longer mandatory for children under the age of 12, he said in the updated regulations published on his blog.
“A valid COVID-19 negative PCR control is required from a government-approved lab no more than 96 hours before departure for return to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. For children under the age of 12, COVID-19 PCR verification is not mandatory,” the airline said.
The airline has confirmed this to passengers who enquired about the COVID-19 test rules on Twitter as well.

Regarding arrival verification needs at UAE airports, the airline stated: “When you arrive in Dubai, you will need to pass a PCR check at the airport and stay in your apartment until you get the verification result. If the result of the verification is positive, you will want to isolate yourself and abide by the Dubai Health Authority guidelines ».
For passengers arriving in Abu Dhabi, the airline said PCR and temperature tests are being conducted at Abu Dhabi Airport.
For Sharjah’s passengers, he said PCR tests were underway on arrival.
