People who are not yet registered and eligible in Delhi will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by 3:00 p. m. and 9:00 p. m. , Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Sunday.

People who are not registered but still eligible in Delhi will need to get vaccinated against COVID-19 between 3 p. m. and 9 p. m. , Health Minister Satyendar Jain said Sunday. So far, unregistered beneficiaries were vaccinated between 3 p. m. and five o’clock in the afternoon, he said.

Recipients will need to register on the Co-WIN portal to obtain the vaccines. Those who do not have access to the Co-WIN portal will be able to stop at the center and get vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Only registered beneficiaries will receive vaccines between 9 a. m. and 3 p. m. Those who are registered can get vaccinated from 3 p. m. to 9 p. m. They just want to bring their Aadhaar card or any other valid proof of identity,” Jain said.

All government hospitals in Delhi were also ordered to increase the number of vaccination sites in their facilities to at least six and send two vaccinators there, he said.

On Friday, the Delhi government issued an ordinance allowing the city’s vaccination centres to operate from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. from Monday.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier said the number of vaccination centres would double from the existing 500 to 1,000, both in public and personal facilities.

On Sunday, the fitness minister said that the Delhi government has carried out competitive and tactile tracing and that the recent surge in new Covid-19 cases will also be contained soon.

Jain said the district government and Delhi police need to crack down on violations in markets and public places given the rising number of cases.

He asked other people to take precautions during the Holi festival. “The number of cases increased during the holiday season last year. That’s why I’m asking everyone to stay safe,” he said.

Delhi on Saturday reported more than 800 COVID-19 cases for the first time this year, with the positivity rate surpassing the 1 percent mark after more than two months. The city had recorded 425 cases as of Tuesday. In recent days, cases have been emerging.
