Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates sent two aid planes with a total of 14 tons of medical supplies and control kits to Argentina and Paraguay to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The aid will go to around 14,000 health workers in their efforts to engage the coronavirus in the two countries.
Hussain Ali bin Hilal Alnaqbi, Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Buenos Aires, said: “The United Arab Emirates and Argentina are united through strong ties, and the leaders of our two countries are interested in those relationships and expand cooperation in various fields of countries. “
Alnaqbi added: “Today’s aid to Argentina is against the backdrop of the UAE’s concerted efforts to assist partner countries in their efforts to combat COVID-19. The United Arab Emirates hopes such assistance will help build the capacity of health professionals in Argentina while offering them the coverage they want in the fight against the virus.
To date, the UAE has responded to the COVID-19 crisis by offering more than 1,392 tonnes to 118 countries, supporting more than 1. 3 million fitness professionals.
