COVID-19 tracker: Tokyo records 10,593 new cases, first above 10,000 in six days

Tokyo on Wednesday showed 10,593 new cases of COVID-19, surpassing 10,000 for the first time in six days, but 2,975 fewer than last week, while reporting 16 new deaths from the virus.

The seven-day average of new infections fell 21 to 8960, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government said.
