Japan on Tuesday showed 166,205 new cases of COVID-19, up from about 46,000 last week.

There have been 311 new COVID-19 deaths, 44 in Osaka Prefecture, 26 in Aichi, 22 in Tokyo and Fukuoka Prefectures and 20 in Kanagawa, according to a Jiji Press tally.
