SINGAPORE: The negative result of the COVID-19 check that some Indian travellers will have to produce to enter Singapore will have to come from a “recognized” laboratory in India, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said Wednesday (September 23).
These accredited laboratories that process the effects of polymerase chain reaction tests (PCRs) must be “internationally accredited or identified through the Indian government,” the ministry said, in response to NAC questions.
This pre-departure check applies to travellers who are Singaporeans or permanent residents.
All Indian travelers allowed to enter must serve 14 days of stay at home on a committed property.
And from Wednesday, those travelers will also have to pass a serological check within 14 days.
Serological tests are tests that look for antibodies, molded through the framework to fight infections, in blood samples. The presence of antibodies implies that a user has ever become inflamed with COVID-19.
As detailed on the Immigration Authority and Checkpoints website, some may also need to take a COVID-19 swab before the finish of their home remains in the period of completion, to know the effects of their serological checks.
The Ministry of Health said there are two degrees of negative effects of COVID-19 control needed to enter Singapore: at India airport before boarding and arriving in Singapore.
“Travellers discovered without the required valid documents will be denied access to Singapore,” the ministry of fitness said, adding that those who submit forged documents to seek access to Singapore may be banned from entering the country in the future.
The Singapore Ministry Working Group on COVID-1nine announced on 9 September that from 17 September, travellers who have recently travelled to India and are Singaporeans or permanent citizens must make a COVID-1nine check within 72 hours. .
The announcement came amid a resurgence of COVID-19 infections in India, Singapore had observed a significant number of imported cases with a recent history in India, the Ministry of Health said at the time.
The requirement applies to those arriving in Singapore from 17 September, in addition to existing situations that require travelers to indicate a 14-day period of stay at home in committed services and a negative COVID-19 check before the end of the tour. .
“This covers the entire era of COVID-19 incubation and has been effective in preventing it in our local community,” the ministry of fitness said.
