Cairo: Residents of Saudi Arabia will soon have the opportunity to see the latest films released as the country fuels a new entertainment industry.
The “Street Cinema” will be unveiled tonight in Abha, the capital of Asir in the southwest of the kingdom starting at the 2020 Asir Summer Festival.
The films will be screened on the big screen, while viewers will stay inside their cars to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
A variety of foreign films will be screened at the festival and interested parties will be asked to book spaces online, according to the municipality of Asir.
The organizer stated that he had decided on a high-level circle of family films that satisfied everyone’s tastes.
He is co-organized through the municipality of Asir and the Ministry of Tourism.
In April 2018, Saudi Arabia reopened cinemas for the first time in more than 35 years, following the kingdom’s efforts to publicize its entertainment activities and diversify its oil-dependent economy.
