COVID-19: Some UAE schools to offer distance education after suspected cases

Dubai: The Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates and the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced Tuesday that some schools will only teach through distance courses after members tested positive for COVID-19.

After a long break of several months, before the youth returned to school, evaluation staff and academics became mandatory.

During this general testing phase for teachers and administrative staff, before academics return to class, the Ministry of Education announced the transfer of a school organization from the United Arab Emirates to a distance education formula following the detection of some positive cases in COVID 19.

These regulations – testing, tracing, treatment – are the cornerstones of the UAE’s successful fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The precautionary measure is to remain in position until the effects of laboratory tests are published.

The ministry will contact the academics involved to inform them of the developments.

The Ministry of Education and the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority asked all school employees, adding teachers and administrators, academics and their parents, to cooperate and disclose any suspicious instances or contact with others with COVID-19.

They were also suggested to report any symptoms to restrict the spread of the virus.

Parents have been asked not to send their children to study rooms and teachers and have been asked not to move into paintings if viral symptoms seem to ensure everyone’s health and protection.

The ministry also asked the public to download data from official sources, rumours and to respect people’s privacy.

The authority added that legal action will be taken in coordination with the applicable government against which it violates the applicable precautionary and preventive measures.
