Covid-19: simulated training in the states, UT on Tuesday for the preparation of fitness facilities

A mock workout will be held Tuesday at several gyms in several states and union territories so they are ready for any COVID-19 eventuality, following a notice from the Center.

The training will be based on parameters such as the availability of fitness services (covering all districts), the capacity of isolation beds, oxygenated beds, extensive care beds and respiratory support beds, and the optimal availability of doctors, nurses, paramedics, AYUSH. doctors and other frontline workers, adding workers from ASHA and Anganwadi.

It will also deal with the capacity of human resources in terms of fitness pros trained in the control of COVID-19, fitness pros trained in ventilatory control protocol for severe cases, fitness personnel trained in the operation of PSA plants, etc. and the availability of Advanced and Basic Life. Support Ambulances (ALS / BLS), control of devices and reagents and essential medicines among others.

Referring to the trajectory of expansion of COVID-19 in many countries around the world, the Ministry of Health of the Union under pressure on Saturday that is that in all states and UT, the public fitness measures required to meet all requirements are implemented.

“The preparation of COVID-19 fitness services is to ensure that states and districts are ready to meet health care needs due to any caseload,” Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said in a letter.

“The goal of this training is the operational availability of those fitness facilities for COVID-19 control,” he said.

Bhushan added that follow-up to any pit assessment will be carried out through the additional leader secretary, the chief secretary, the secretary (health) and/or MD-NHM of the states, who will also be required to personally monitor the training under the general guidance of the respective states’ Ministry of Health.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday activated administrative mechanisms for Covid preparedness and control, adding simulated exercises in medical schools and hospitals across the state, after two new cases were reported in Unnao and Agra.

On Monday, Delhi government officials began physically visiting all government hospitals in the city to make sure they were ready for any eventuality given the rise in covid cases in some countries, the government said.
