COVID-19: Saudi escorts authorized to enter the kingdom

Cairo: Saudi nationals can enter the country with their foreign parents and domestic staff land crossings amid precautions against the novel coronavirus, a press report said Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia’s Directorate-General for Passports noted that citizens wishing to return to the kingdom through land crossings from neighbouring countries must provide documents proving the date of foreign escorts to download prior authorization prior to arrival by connecting to the Internal Ministry’s Abshar platform, Saudi newspaper Okaz said.

The Saudi government has designated 4 junctions as its first arrangement to add the King Fahd road that joins the kingdom and Bahrain. The remaining problems of land crossings will be added in the next one in coordination with the National Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior, according to the report. .

Non-Saudi escorts must provide a certificate certifying that they have undergone PCR coronavirus screening and have given negative results no more than hours prior to arrival.

Saudi Arabia’s Passport Directorate adopted the measure according to similar rules while respecting physical fitness prevention measures, Okaz said.
