COVID-19: Saudi Arabia registers 1372 new coronavirus

Dubai: Saudi Arabia has announced the detection of 1372 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections shown to 299914 to 17 August 2020.

According to the Ministry of Health, the capital of the kingdom, Riyadh, has noticed a sharp drop in the number of cases shown with only another forty-five people who tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 28 COVID-19 patients succumbed to the fatal virus, which is the lowest in a day without getting married in months, bringing the number of coronavirus deaths in Saudi Arabia to 3436.

The total number of recoveries amounted to 268,385 after 1,432 patients recovered in the Kingdom.

However, Hafouf outperformed Saudi cities in terms of the highest number of infections detected with 73 new cases, followed by hail with 65 cases and Mecca with 64 cases. Other new cases were detected in cities and provinces in Saudi Arabia.

There are currently 28,093 active instances in the Kingdom, of which 1,758 are in condition.
