COVID-19: Quadriplicated fine for not wearing mask in Bahrain

Cairo: Bahrain has quadrupled the fine for dressing up in a mask in public amid an increase in the number of coronaviruses in the country.

Interior Minister Rashed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa decreed the obligation to dress in a protective mask in public, and publicity and advertising are put up to additional notice, Bahraini newspaper Akhbar Al Khaleej reported.

Violations of the decree shall be punished by an early fine of BD20. Violators who refuse to pay the fine will be prosecuted, referral to the Crown, according to the report.

To date, Bahrain has reported a total of 67,701 viruses and 233 similar deaths.
