Cairo: Kuwait’s Directorate-General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) has banned non-passengers from entering the country’s airport, the country’s most recent step in involving coronavirus.
“Following instructions from fitness authorities, others are prevented from entering buildings at Kuwait International Airport to obtain or say goodbye to travelers in accordance with physical fitness measures, applying physical distance and avoiding overcrowding in the airport’s internal buildings,” DGCA said.
In June, the Kuwaiti government approved a three-step plan to resume advertising flights to and from Kuwait from 1 August, with 30% of the airport’s capacity.
In the moment it starts on 1 February and for six more months, Kuwait Airport will operate at 60% of its overall capacity. The expected number of passengers at this stage will not exceed 20,000, depending on the day on a maximum number of flights of 200.
The third phase that begins in August next year will mark a return to full capacity.
