COVID-19 outbreak declared at Windsor Regional Hospital

An outbreak of COVID-19 was reported at Unit 4North of Windsor Regional Hospital on the Met campus.

Three patients tested positive for COVID-19 at the unit, the hospital said Tuesday.

The hospital says anti-outbreak measures are in place and will be revoked on Oct. 17 if no COVID-19 cases are identified.

“This outbreak is a reminder that COVID-19 continues in our community,” the hospital said in the statement.

Windsor Regional Hospital announced last Tuesday that a mandatory mask policy for staff and volunteers would be reinstated on Oct. 10. Staff and volunteers will be required to wear masks if they are within six feet of a patient or if there are no physical barriers.

The hospital encourages network members to wear a mask when they feel well and to check if they want to get vaccinated.
