SEOUL (BLOOMBERG) – After a woman with coronavirus visited a Starbucks coffee shop north of Seoul this month, more than two dozen consumers tested positive a few days later. But the four workers dressed in masks escaped the infection.
The August 8 outbreak in the South Korean city of Paju is an example of how the Sars-CoV-2 virus can spread temporarily in enclosed spaces, as well as tactics to minimize transmission.
While the world-wide fitness government is still debating evidence on face masks, the 27-person organization related to the release of air-conditioned coffee adds more for its mandatory use to help restrict the spread of the virus that causes Covid-19.
“It says a lot about the role the mask can play,” said Ma Sang Hyuk, a pediatric infectious disease doctor at Changwon Fatima Hospital in South Korea.
“Masks may not provide 100 percent protection, but there is nothing so effective.”
The rules of face masks are issued from Australia to Venezuela to involve the pandemic, which has inflamed more than 23 million people and killed at least 810,000 people worldwide.
Face cover will be mandatory in New Zealand for citizens using public transport and cars to get around indoors, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Monday. Last week, the World Health Organization issued a recommendation on its use in children.
But resistance to dressing in a mask persists in some countries, such as the United States, where others oppose the requirement to wear a mask at tickets or restaurants. Misinformation about its effectiveness and protection has also been disseminated.
Authorities assume that top consumers did not wear a mask when they drank and dined at the Starbucks Corp. store. in South Korea, according to Gang Young-do, spokesman for Paju’s government. The air conditioning on the ceiling helped cool the second-floor plug, he said.
“The virus can spread where other people wear masks while dining or drinking tea, as demonstrated by Starbucks in Paju,” Jung Eun-kyeong reporters, director of the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Seoul, told reporters Jung Eun-kyeong.
The Starbucks case is one of “the greatest opportunities to examine threat points among a more or less controlled cohort of people,” said Arnold Bosman, director of Transmissible BV, a Dutch developer of epidemic control educational devices.

Starbucks infections then led to about 3 dozen more cases outdoors of coffee on August 24, an economy that has so far controlled into a severe recession.
The Seoul metropolitan domain has a hot spot for viruses, and the local government government this week made it mandatory to use a mask for all internal and external citizens.
