A COVID-19 outbreak aboard a Canadian warship has forced the Royal Canadian Navy to cancel the remainder of an excursion to the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway.
The HMCS Harry DeWolf, an Arctic offshore patrol ship, was in Montreal on Friday when the decision was made to close the shipment to visitors and suspend the visit.
The ship’s command team posted a statement on social media saying that upcoming visits to Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Quebec City and Saguenay, Quebec, would be canceled.
The vessel, which can carry between 60 and 85 crew members, is scheduled to return to its home port of Halifax today.
Earlier this month, the 103-metre vessel visited Toronto, Hamilton and Kingston, Ontario.
