Muscat: The national serological survey on the COVID-19 virus through the Oman Ministry of Health, which began on 12 July, continues without ceasing. The cross-sectional survey includes all parts of the Sultanate and will involve 20,000 Omane and expatriates whose blood will be analyzed as a component of this exercise.
A diagnostic method, serological tests are used for antibodies, which are created through the immune formula when a user becomes inflamed with the virus, and antigens in a user’s blood.
Selected participants will be invited through the Ministry of Health government to make a stopover at certain gyms for blood tests. The effects will help the Sultanate’s fitness government identify patterns of infection and immunity that will help when regulations on corporations in the country are lifted and make decisions based on epidemiological data.
The survey also aims to assess the extent of the infection through the age group, track undiagnosed cases in the lab and estimate the point of infection at the point of governorship and infection rate, the onset of symptoms and the cumulative number of inflamed cases.
In addition, it will assess the effect of life criteria on disease extent and the effects of blockage on the spread of the epidemic compared to unfined areas.
It is worth mentioning here that the COVID-19 tracking application introduced through the Oman Ministry of Health, called Tarassud, recently discussed through the World Health Organization (WHO) as one of the toughest technological responses deployed to date in the Middle East to monitor the movement and spread of COVID-19 and ensure that the patient complies with isolation measures.
