COVID-19: Oman reports 1,619 new cases, for a total of 64193

Cairo: Oman showed on Friday 1619 new instances of the new coronavirus, an accumulation of 592 instances to the count reported the previous day.

The most recent raises the total number of infections in the country to 64,193, the Omani news firm ONA, which mentioned the ministry of fitness, reported.

Newly diagnosed cases come with 1,249 Omanis and 370 foreign residents, the ministry said without offering a breakdown of non-Omani patients.

The ministry announced 8 more deaths for COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths in Oman to 298.

The country’s overall recovery after the disease reached 41,450, according to the ministry.

In recent weeks, Oman has noticed an increase in viral infections, which has led the government to tighten preventive measures.

On Tuesday, an ideal committee to fight COVID-19 announced the continued closure of Dhofar governorate and Masirah state until it becomes additionally known as a component of precautions against the spread of highly infectious disease.
