The Omani Ministry of Labor said expatriates leaving Oman do not have to pay the fines they have accumulated during their residence in the Sultanate, as long as they leave the country permanently.
The rule is valid until the end of the year and is consistent with the decisions of the Supreme Committee to Combat COVID-19.
“Expats will be exempt from fees and fines resulting from the entry of paintings for non-Omanian labour, provided they leave the Sultanate forever,” the ministry said in a statement.
“Private sector corporations can also terminate the contracts of their non-Omanian employees, provided those institutions agree to pay all workers’ fees and leave the Sultanate forever,” the ministry added.
