Muscat: Oman airports will offer the general public the opportunity to participate in a test to check the operational availability of Muscat International Airport on Friday, September 25, before general operations resume from October 1.
The Omani airport government has invited volunteers among Omani citizens, as well as expatriate citizens, to participate in the trial at 9:00 a. m. ahead of the airport’s scheduled reopening on October 1.
Muscat International Airport will conduct COVID-19 fitness screening and procedures for all passengers arriving when operations resume.
A total of 150 volunteers who have registered will go through the entire arrival process, adding check-in, immigration, COVID-19 PCR (nasal samples) and will leave the baggage claim room.
On the same day, the installation of the COVID-19 check at the wheel will also be verified with fewer volunteers.
As a component of the test, volunteers will get a loose PCR check (worth 25 OMR), and the result will be communicated within 24 hours. Selected volunteers will need to bring a valid passport and an airport pass with them if they have one.
Participation in this exclusive training is reserved for guests over 12 years of age and participants must show up at the airport at 9:00 a. m. of that day. Everyone is asked to wear a face mask at all times and maintain a social distance during the test.
