Cairo: Oman has shown 568 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 95,907, the country’s fitness minister, Dr. Ahmed Al Saeedi, said today.
The total number of COVID-19 deaths in the country increased to 885 with 10 new deaths, according to the minister.
There are 36,734 other remote people at home and 203 more in institutional quarantine, Dr. Al Saeedi said at a press convention in Muscat.
He added that recovery in the sultanate had fallen to 91%. “This means that recovery rates are being recomposed, but it shows an increase in cases,” he said, according to Omani news firm ONA.
In recent weeks, Oman has eased several virus-like restrictions. In mid-August, Oman lifted a night-time movement ban imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19. The sultanate plans to resume scheduled foreign flights from October 1.
