The Ontario government said Thursday that it has processed more than 35,000 COVID-19 tests in more than 24 hours, a cry of Prime Minister Doug Ford’s purpose of 50,000 per day.
In the Peterborough area, the Medical Health Officer says that about one in five people, or nearly 34,000, have been tested at least once the pandemic occurred here.
“I know the paramedic is moving internally (to Northcrest Arena). I know you’ve limited your number to six every 15 minutes, ” said dr. Rosana Salvaterra. ” These appointments are filling up every day. “

Driving control of Eastgate Park moved to Northcrest Arena on Monday.
The appointment-only style can filter up to 180 other people on weekdays from 10 a. m. 5:30 p. m, at six verification stations in the arena.
In a text message with Global News Peterborough on Thursday, Peterborough’s paramedic superintendent Craig Jones said almost every appointment was scheduled every day.
But he also said that there had been several no shows and that other people would have to cancel online because otherwise they could use this schedule.
Coronavirus tests should be performed in Northcrest if:

The difference now is that anyone, symptomatic or asymptomatic, may have been evaluated at Eastgate, where paramedics would administer more than 500 tests consistent with the day by the end of September.
The citation-only model, which was implemented in early October in Eastgate, saw this number halve to approximately 240.
“The numbers are less than this great weight in September. That’s because we tested other asymptomatic people in September; tests may simply be done, whether you’ve had a symptom or been in close contact,” Dr Salvaterra added.
“We have replaced the orientation of the tests to more strategic ones so that they are mainly used for others who have symptoms or who have been derived by close contacts. “

Dr Salvaterra said there is still the ability to conduct asymptomatic testing at Shopconsistent withs Drug Mart, where up to 40 appointment spaces are available according to the day.
“So the numbers aren’t that high. I’m glad they’re not the way they were in September. It’s more vital that those who want checks do it the same day. As quickly as we get the check results, we can make sure they isolate themselves and that we can touch their closest contacts,” he said.
“I think we are doing homework here with testing. “
Salvaterra said other people without symptoms or threat points cannot be tested at this time.
People without symptoms who meet one of the following criteria can be tested by appointment at Shoppers Drug Mart in Lansdowne and High Streets in Peterborough:
To schedule an appointment at Shoppers Drug Mart, you can call 705-748-6141 or email asdm614@shoppersdrugmart. ca.
On Monday, pharmacy owner Mohan Joshi told Global News Peterborough that buyers were very busy and that appointments took more than 48 hours in advance.
Joshi said the pharmacy could also expand its testing to weekends.

Meanwhile, symptomatic citizens can go to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (CHRP) for testing.
It is open seven days a week.
In an email Monday, hospital spokeswoman Michelene Ough said that between August 31 and October 5, the evaluation center had an average of appointments consistent with the day.
This number has been reduced to about 50 appointments according to the day since October 5.
“Over the 8+ weeks, the CHRC’s COVID-19 screening center recorded the number of patients on October 2 – at that time, we had 102 appointments for assessment / testing,” Ough said.
If your symptoms are severe, call 911 or go to the emergency department.
The PRHC COVID-19 evaluation center number is 705-876-5086.
With regard to Northcrest paramedics, Dr. Salvaterra stated that Peterborough Public Health can move them elsewhere if more testing is suddenly required.
He also told reporters Wednesday that if an outbreak occurs in Peterborough County, paramedics may be sent to install a cell phone in the county’s most remote and rural spaces.
